Agricultural Tourism in India

Agricultural Tourism in IndiaTourism is one of the fastest growing business in the world. Agricultural tourism is a new concept which aims at bridging the gap between farmers and people living in cities. Before few years, People of the cities often visited their relatives and friends living in countryside which refreshed their mind and body. With the fast modern life and growing interest of people in finding momental happiness in Discos, Bars and restaurants, most of us have forgotten the age old relations with the villages. Now as all these recreational activities are on its threshold, People are back to the farms but they have left the relations. They want farm vacations, they want to listen to the chirpy birds in the morning, they want to eat locally grown food, particularly organic food.

Agricultural tourism provides enjoyment and education to the public an promotes fresh agricultural products from the farm. In several parts of the world agricultural festivals, harvest festivals are celebrated since times immemorial. There are pumpkin festivals, tomato festivals, fruit festivals, flower festivals, bird watching trips, cart rides. One can also experience mountain bike trails, horse safaris, camel safaris and eco-friendly cycle tours.

Wheat and Rice Grains in IndiaAgricultural tourism is a concept which takes us back to a culture which emphasizes man’s oneness with agriculture. People took interest in agriculture, they cared for animals, placed their seeds in the fields, harvested the crops and it was a time of joy and celebrations for them. There was a time when the world was proud with people living on farms were in large numbers. But with increased modernization and developments, this number is gradually reducing. Now most of the children don’t know the food they are eating comes from farms, the milk they have in the morning is from animals. They think everything is produced in the factories and then they purchase it directly.

Agricultural tourism is a new concept which allows people to experience the cycle of life, the growth of plants, the birth and death of animals and all natural activites. We provide recreational tours which includes visits to rural establishments or rural areas where there are some special activities, events or attractions developed to interest the tourists. One should remember that these activities are natural and they do not include anything like trips of visits to different monuments or sightseen.

Most of the activities include how to keep animals, how to grow good crops and flowers. Some sports activities are also there like catching hens, sack races. Some special cooking classes, pickling classes, food storage classes are also organized from time to time.

There is everything which is far from the maddening crowds of city, things which naturally gives relaxation and rejuvenation to the mind as well as to the body.
